Review

Packed box
The Lava Agni 5g India's first 5G phone gives you an Indian feel when grabbing the box because some Indian inspirational lines are printed on the box with #proudlyindian. It opens in a different way which is a very nice presentation. Overall, It provides a very premium box and packaging.

In-Hand & Design
The build quality and design are just amazing because lava new mobile 5g has an anti-fingerprint polycarbonate plastic matte finish back like frosted glass whereas it has a slightly glossy look, the reason is when we rotate it a little it shines and reflects so that it looks stylish that has gradient design.

In hand experience is also commendable because of its sleek design and lightweight, also it seems a bit heavy too, but according to its large size, it does not have that much weight or perhaps its weight is not felt much. Its sides and upper bezels are small and the enter punch-hole camera looks slight big.

There is also beautiful branding on the back of this Lava 5g mobile phone What to say about its hardware, it is very much praiseworthy which makes it capable of competing by launching it in the market.
The box also includes a case which is made with very good quality. It doesn't look like an emerging company can offer this type of design. It looks more like Realme or Redmi smartphones.

Display
The Lava Agni 5g is the first & only Indian 5g smartphone. This mobile beats its competitors in many things like its display is the biggest display in this segment. This smartphone features an FHD+ screen and 90Hz which helps to make it smooth and consistent with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Contrast and saturation are also very lovely, viewing angles are also good. It could be better if it has an Amoled screen or 120Hz but it is still a  good choice because 91.73% (company claimed) screen-to-body ratio gives a better viewing experience. This huge and smooth screen allows us to play games in high settings, enjoy entertainment content etc. with an immersive viewing and amazing gaming experience.

Performance & Storage
The MediaTek Dimensity 810 with a 6nm chipset makes Lava new phone powerful, power-efficient and capable that is equal to Snapdragon 732G paired with 8GB ram and 128 GB storage that is also expandable up to 256 GB. It is an octa-core processor that processes up to 2.4GHz. 8 GB RAM makes us meet a fast gaming and multi-tasking experience. You can play BGMI, COD types of games on HD high settings. The Agni 5g is made with the latest UFS standard and subjects to superfast data transfer which is faster than regular EMMC. According to the test, it seems like that storage type is equivalent to UFS 2.1 although the company did not disclose this and the RAM type could be LPDDR4x.

This chipset makes better to premium display which also contributes to surpassing camera performance and ensures a long battery life. This is an interesting point it involves 8-series SoC, not 7 which enables it to be glitch-free. Lava provides a stock Android experience, which means no bloatware, ads or pre-installed apps, completely clean UI and this is great in this budget of mid-range mobiles.

Camera
This handset has a 64 MP Quad-core AI camera setup which is like this 64+5+2+2. It has Dual LED Flash Light with 80 CRI, which means better photo quality in even low light, in other words, it'll capture good pictures at night and in daylight, it will make a splash with its proper photo detailing. Slight inconsistency can be observed but still get to see nice colours and brightness. Although, the main camera plays a better role in the quality of photos as compared to the rest as all other sensors contribute decent quality. On the other side, camera UI features a rich app with 10+ camera modes.

Battery
The Lava Agni 5g India's first 5G phone has a 5000 mAh li-polymer huge battery with 30W of superfast charging that can charge 100% in just 1.5 hours. It is quite good in this price range because our tests showcases we played the game for 30 minutes and only 11% battery was consumed and the 6nm SoC helps it to do this. It makes its battery more than enough, which means, you can use it for the whole day, the battery will not drain much and it will go on for 1.5 days too under moderate usage.

Connections & Network
This handset supports 5g with only 3 bands, it would have been better if there were more. It includes Bluetooth v5.1, Dual-band Wi-Fi support with Wi-Fi calling. FM radio and Navigation are also available.

Other Features
This smartphone introduces ultra-fast fingerprint unlock in just 34 milliseconds and this is the fastest in this category. Also, it makes us familiar with unlocking in just 0.24 seconds with Face recognition. The Antutu score of 380k approx. and Geekbench Multi-Core of 1695 approx. show its strong competition which it gives to foreign mobile companies. It has a mono stereo speaker that has decent oud sound and while playing games, it gives nice experience & fun.

The Lava 5g smartphone supports Camera2Api and also Widevine L3, which means you can watch Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. in just 480p but it should be L1 because it has an FHD+ screen, so we can consider it a disadvantage but it could be resolved in software updates.

It also has minor problems like mild frame drops when we do too much multi-tasking in the software, also felt some rough edges, some inconsistency in the colours while clicking pictures but still it is an interesting product and nice approach from lava because there is no major one and could be resolved through its new update and if this happens, then it will prove to be a very fabulous phone.

There are some cool features that you will not want to miss like Duraspeed Mode is if you enable this and open an app then other apps will close automatically in the background, Lift To Awake is when you pick up the mobile then it will be turned on by itself, there is another feature called Pocket Mode in the Intelligent Assistance which means your mobile will not be active in the pocket if you enable this feature as well as You will also get to see the refresh rate information here in Intelligent Assistant.

You will be surprised to know that you'll get a Service Manager after buying Lava Agni 5g India's first 5g phone, which will help you with any problems with the device & setup which is quite a new idea and which is heard for the first time. Apart from this, Lava promises to push 2 years of system updates.

Above all, Lava converts their improvements into transformation, good into awesome, bright into beautiful, fast into superfast, big into grand and better into ultimate through this model. However, they claims that Lava Agni 5g India's first 5g phone is better than all mobiles in this segment with this competition against Redmi Note 10T 5g, Oppo A53 5g, Vivo Y72 and Realme 8s 5g which is proved by its result.

In conclusion, Lava wants to highlight that the best quality can be expected from the Indian brand as well as we should provide on Indian identity through this smartphone. It also believes in Sashakt and Atmanirbhar India.

Most importantly, now come to its price, so lava Agni 5g India's first 5G phone was worth ₹ 17,999 on pre-booking before its launch date which has now increased to its normal price of ₹ 19,999 but to be honest, if Lava Agni 5g price were a little less by ₹1000-₹2000 then it would've been great but even at ₹20k, it is the 1st Indian company to release a 5g phone with "Agni" in your hands and competing with other brands.
